This promotional theatrical poster, titled “The Barnum and Bailey Greatest Show on Earth,” features two large cameos of the show’s creators. When 19th-century circus pioneers P.T. Barnum and James A. Bailey merged their rival circuses in 1881, they created the largest and most popular circus of its time. This chromolithograph was published in 1897 by Strobridge & Co. Lith. (LC-DIG-ppmsca-54815).
