This promotional poster, titled “Harry Houdini, King of Cards,” shows a large cameo of Hungarian American magician Harry Houdini. This was Houdini’s first poster, titled thus because his first shows focused mainly on traditional card tricks. At that time, he billed himself as the King of Cards. He later billed himself as King of Handcuffs and Master Prison Breaker. This color lithograph was printed ca. 1895 (LC-USZC4-3282).
