This show poster was a promotional piece for William F. Cody’s famous Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show. It shows Napoleon Bonaparte on the left (“THE MAN ON HORSE OF 1796”), with Buffalo Bill on the right (“THE MAN ON HORSE OF 1898”). In the middle, artist Rosa Bonheur is painting Buffalo Bill (“ART PERPETUATING FAME”). The portrait on the side is of Buffalo Bill on horseback. This color lithograph was published ca. 1899 by Courier Litho. Co. (LC-DIG-ppmsca-54868).
