This advertising poster was created during the Spanish-American war and was likely intended to build patriotic pride and rally support for the country’s involvement in the war. It shows a man dressed in a military uniform, holding a rifle as he embraces a beautifully gowned woman while preparing to join the troops shown in the background. The color lithograph was published ca. 1898 by Strobridge & Co. (Call No. POS - TH - STO, no. 39).
