This promotional circus poster advertises the Downie Bros. 3-Ring Circus, an American circus founded in 1926 by showman Andrew Downie. It was called the "Largest Motor Circus in the World," using a large fleet of trucks instead of the traditional circus train. The circus was popular for its use of elephants, such as “Teddy, the famous New York Hippodrome Elephant.” This color lithograph was printed ca. 1925 by Erie Litho Co. (LC-DIG-ppmsca-55031).
