This studio portrait shows the New York Metropolitans baseball team, nicknamed the Metropolitans or Mets, wearing white uniforms with neckties. They played in New York City from 1880 to 1887, winning the American Association pennant in 1884. They played at the original Polo Grounds. The photograph was created in 1882 by Napoleon Sarony.
