This photo shows an early baseball card of 10 members of the Atlantics of Brooklyn baseball club. Baseball was originally more of an urban sport, with the first organized teams playing in New York City and Brooklyn. Up to the Civil War, more than 100 baseball teams played there. The photograph was published ca. 1864 by photographer Charles H. Williamson.
