This photograph shows a stock poster showing a runner sliding past the catcher. At this time, the National League was the only major professional baseball league. The Boston Beaneaters won the pennant that year, and the Baltimore Orioles took home the Temple Cup. The chromolithograph was published ca. 1897 by The Strobridge Lith. Co.
