John J. McGraw and Frank Chance, 1911
This photograph shows Baseball Hall of Famers John J. McGraw (1873-1934) and Frank Chance (1876-1924) standing together on a baseball field. McGraw (“Little Napoleon”), the manager of the New York Giants, led them to nine pennants. Chance (“The Peerless Leader”) was a respected player and manager of the Chicago Cubs. The photograph was published in 1911.
