Honest John Morrill, 1887
This photograph shows an Old Judge baseball card portrait of “Honest John” Francis Morrill (1855-1932) when he was with the Boston Beaneaters. (At the time, Boston was recognized as Beantown.) The team was managed by King Kelly for most of the season, then by Morrill for the remainder. They finished fifth in the National League during the team’s 17th season. The photograph was published in 1887.
