This promotional circus poster advertises the Cole Bros. Circus, a medium-sized American circus that toured for many decades. Featured here are “The Great Grimes,” a popular high-wire troupe of acrobats known for daring feats of balance. The crowd favorite was shown here, with two performers riding bicycles with a pole on their shoulders. Balanced on the pole was a third performer on a chair and a fourth performer on their shoulders. This color lithograph was printed by Erie Litho. & Ptg. Co. (LC-DIG-ppmsca-55020).
