This promotional poster advertises “Around the World,” a show produced by the Kiralfy Brothers (Imre and Bolossy). The Kiralfy Brothers created Parisian-style grand spectacles and took them around the world. Their shows featured fancy sets, special effects, and large casts. As seen on the poster, this show also featured a large and handsomely dressed elephant. This color lithograph was printed ca. 1882 by Forbes Co. (LC-USZ62-24625).
