Venice, the Bride of the Sea
This promotional theater poster was also titled “Venice.” It was designed to advertise “Venice, the Bride of the Sea,” a major theatrical production and exhibition created by Hungarian-American producer Imre Kiralfy. It was performed inside London’s Olympia Theater and offered a romanticized version of Venice. It was a huge crowd-pleaser. This color lithograph was printed ca. 1891 by Strobridge Litho. Co. (Call No. POS - TH - KIR, no. 33).
