John Robinson's $25,000 Challenge
This promotional poster issued a challenge to see if any man could beat Louis Cyr’s boast of being the strongest man on Earth. In his acts, he was assisted by Horace “French Hercules” Barre. The poster shows various scenes depicting Cyr’s strength, such as him lifting 25 men at once. Barre is shown supporting an elephant on a platform. This color lithograph was printed ca. 1898 by Courier Litho. Co. (LC-DIG-ppmsca-54942).
