Walter L. Main, 63 Performing Horses
This promotional circus poster advertised an astounding event—63 performing horses in one ring—at the Walter L. Main Circus. Main was an American showman and circus owner who started up his circus in 1885 in Geneva, Ohio. It became one of the largest traveling railroad circuses in the world. The cameos portraits are Main and his featured performer, Joe Berres. This color lithograph was printed ca. 1899 by Courier Litho. Co. (LC-DIG-ppmsca-55014).
