Ben-Hur
This promotional theater poster advertises producers Klaw & Erlanger’s dramatic production of William Young’s 1899 stage adaptation of Lew Wallace’s novel, “Ben-Hur.” The play was a huge success, a “stupendous production,” and wowed audiences with its dramatic scale. It toured nationally for years and ran on Broadway for 18 years. This color lithograph was printed ca. 1901 by Strobridge & Co. (LC-DIG-var-0020).
