Leopard and Cub, Keeping Close
Leopards are solitary, nocturnal big cats known for their special camouflage—dark spots called rosettes. They can be found in forests, mountains, and even deserts in Sub-Saharan Africa, northeast Africa, Central Asia, India, and China. The cubs, who weigh only 17-21 ounces at birth. Start out with a soft, gray coat and barely visible spots. The mother keeps them safe by moving them from one den to another every few days.
