The mandrill is the largest and most colorful type of monkey. The male mandrill’s most striking features are its blue-and-red facial ridges and colorful rear end, resplendent in shades of reds, pinks, blues, and lilac. Mandrills live in the rainforests of equatorial Africa, primarily in Gabon, Cameroon, and the Republic of Cong. These highly social animals live in troops of up to 200.
