Dalmatian Pelican Landing at Sunset
The Dalmatian Pelican is the largest member of the pelican family, one of the largest flying birds in the world with a wingspan of up to 11 feet or more. It mostly lives in lakes, rivers, and deltas across southeastern Europe, Russia, China, and India. Its bill pouch turns orangish-red during the breeding season, as shown here.
