These small parrots are usually seen in the tropical lowlands, rainforests, and forest edges of southeastern Mexico to north-western Colombia. They are very noisy, are known to be “big talkers,” and can mimic human speech, laughter, and song as well as household sounds like alarms and cellphone beeps. Like most parrots, they mate for life.
