Steller’s Jay in the Mountains
These Steller’s jays are found in the coniferous forests of western North America and are the only crested jay west of the Rocky Mountains. They are known to be intelligent, noisy, and bold enough to hunt food handouts in picnic areas. These omnivores eat seeds, nuts, berries, insects, and occasionally the eggs and baby birds of other species.
