Bluespotted Ribbontail Ray

The blue spots on this ray are meant to warn predators that it is venomous. It uses its wide wing-like fins to swim. During the day, it often hides alone in caves or under coral ledges. If it becomes frightened, it buries itself in the sandy ocean floor, with only its eyes and breathing holes peeking out.
