Desert Landscape, Saudi Arabia
These distinctive sandstone rock formations were shaped by wind, sand, and water in Al-Ula (AlUla), Saudi Arabia. Some are named, such as Elephant Rock, Face Rock, and the Dancing Rocks. This desert area became Saudi Arabia’a first UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008. Visitors also come to the area to see its 111 monumental tombs carved into the rock formations.
