Battle of Bull Run
This painting shows the first major land battle of the Civil War, fought July 21, 1861, near Manassas, Virginia. It was the First Battle of Bull Run, also known as the First Battle of Manassas. The Confederate Army was victorious, dashing Union hopes for a quick end to the war. This color lithograph was published ca. 1890 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01843).
