This painting shows a scene from the Battle of Franklin, fought in Franklin, Tennessee on November 30, 1864. Pitted against each other were Confederate forces under Gen. John Bell Hood and Union troops under Gen. Schofield, resulting in a defeat for the South. This chromolithograph was published ca. 1891 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01852).
