This oil-on-canvas painting was created in 1817 by Dutch painter Georgius Jacobus Johannes van Os (1782-1861). Most of van Os’s career was spent in Paris where he painted porcelain for the Sevres factory that made vases, tableware, and sculptures. In his spare time, he painted floral still lifes such as this one. (Rijksmuseum)
