Woman in a Large Hat
This oil-on-canvas painting was created by Dutch Golden Age artist Caesar van Everdingen (1616-1678), ca. 1650. The woman is wearing a large hat of the type commonly worn by Romani women then at the court in The Hague during costume parties and parade. The painting was well received, and Van Everdingen was awarded several commissions from it. (Rijksmuseum)
