This oil-on-canvas painting was created in 1661 by Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669). Rembrandt was 55 when he painted this self-portrait, showing himself as he might have looked if he had been the Apostle Paul of the Bible. (Smithsonian)
