Italian Landscape
This oil-on-canvas painting was created by Dutch landscape artist and lithographer Barend Cornelis Koekkoek (1803–1862) in 1848. It shows a shepherd talking to a man on horseback on a mountain path behind some livestock by a rippling stream. In the distance loom majestic mountain peaks and the faint image of a castle.
