Gokakoku Jinbutsu - Dontaku no Zu
The title translates to “People of Five Nations—Sunday.” This woodblock print shows several women and men enjoying a tea party at a community center, with a view of ships in a Yokohama harbor in the background. The woodcut was created (with color) in 1861 by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Yoshitora Utagawa (1836-1880). (Library of Congress, LC-USZC4-10613)
