The Cygnus Loop is a large supernova remnant. A supernova is a powerful, bright explosion of a star, marking the end of its life cycle. As this huge star exploded thousands of years ago, a supernova remnant broke off. It is located in the constellation Cygnus and is fairly “close” to Earth. (Hubble Space Telescope)
