Gas Plume Near Orion Nebula
This gas plume is located near the Orion Nebula and is a powerful stream of material that has been expelled from a newly formed star. It moves at an extremely high speed and creates a hypersonic shock wave as it interacts with other gases in the nebula. About 1,500 light-years away, a stellar nursery is forming new stars.
