The Sharpless 2-106 nebula is also known as the "Celestial Snow Angel,” “Angel Nebula,” Hourglass Nebula,” or Christmas Angel Nebula.” It is located in the constellation Cygnus, about 2,000 light-years from Earth. Its hourglass shape is caused by powerful jets of hot gas that come from its new central star. A circlet of cooler dust acts as a “belt.”
