This photograph shows Union Army’s Secret Service officers Col. George H. Sharpe, John G. Babcock, an unidentified man, and Lt. Col. John McEntee seated in front of the Army of the Potomac headquarters in Brandy Station, Virginia. Col. Sharpe was the commander of the Bureau of Military Intelligence (BMI) during the American Civil War. The photograph was created in February 1864.
