This photograph shows the tent camp of Union Captain John J. Huff in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Battle of Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863) is remembered as the bloodiest battle of the American Civil War. It led to an important Union victory and marked the turning point of the war. The photograph was published in July 1865 by William Morris Smith.
