Maj. Gen. Mortimer D. Leggett (Union)
A college professor before the war, he was Col. of 78th Ohio, Fort Donelson and Shiloh. Brevet Promotions Maj. Gen. U. S. V. September 1, 1864. In the post war era, he was U. S. commissioner of patents.
