J.E.B. Stuart
Famed Confederate cavalryman James Ewell Brown “Jeb” Stuart (1833-1864) fought alongside Gen. Lee and his close friend, Stonewall Jackson, during the Civil War. He commanded a number of cavalry units and was famous for successful raids on Union troops. He was killed during the Battle of Yellow Tavern against Sheridan’s cavalry at the outskirts of Richmond in 1864.
