Gen. J.C. Robinson Locomotive
This photograph of the Gen. J. C. Robinson locomotive was taken at City Point, Virginia, during the American Civil War. The city became an important Union supply hub and General Ulysses S. Grant's headquarters during the Petersburg Siege. Locomotives such as the Gen. J. C. Robinson transported troops and supplies to the front lines. The photograph was taken ca. 1864.
