Mitch Bouyer Crow/Sioux died June 25, 1876, at the Battle of the Little Big Horn working as a scout with the 7th Cavalry. He is said to have warned Lt. Col. George A. Custer the village ahead was the largest he’d ever seen. Bouyer is pictured here wearing a sequined velvet cloth around his shoulders and a fur hat decorated with two stuffed woodpeckers.
