Yancey’s in Winter
Known as “Uncle John Yancey,” Yancey and his dog stand in front of his popular saloon in Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming). Yancey’s Pleasant Valley operation catered to fishermen and park visitors coming to or from Cooke City. The facility included a hotel, mail station, barn and stock shed. Photographed ca. 1894 by F.
